Prior to operating on the bus, a valid and unique device address between 0 and 127, referred to as the MAC address, must be set using the ADDRESS DIP Switch located on the AVC5000 Control Module shown below.

All that’s required is a Windows PC or Tablet with a USB Port, a USB Cable and the AVC Insight Software.

  • Page 40 Installation & Operation Manual - Model AVC5000 6.6.4.2.6 Face Velocity Verification The AVC5000 Controller continuously calculates the face velocity using the real-time fume hood exhaust airflow and the total open area. The AFC5000 Display/Alarm Module provides personnel working near the fume hood with an indication of the average face velocity in addition to providing audio and visual alarms and the ability to activate the purge function in case of emergency.

Both of the Analog Output Gauges operate in a similar manor and each can be configured independently.

When an alarm condition is present and the Display Module audible horn sounds, pressing the Mute button on the display will silence the audible horn until the Mute button is pressed again or the alarm condition is cleared.
