Communicating with an Access Point (infrastructure)

An infrastructure network is a network that extends an existing wired local network to wireless devices by providing an Access Point,
for example the Sony PCWA-A320 Access Point. The Access Point bridges the wireless and wired LAN and acts as a central
controller for the Wireless LAN. The Access Point coordinates transmission and reception from multiple wireless devices within a
specific range.
To communicate with an Access Point (infrastructure), proceed as follows:
1
Insert the Wireless LAN PC Card.
2
Right-click the network icon
3
Click View Available Wireless Networks.
The Wireless Network Connection dialog box appears.
4
Select the network you want to use.
5
Type the Network Key.
If you are using the Sony Access Point PCWA-A320, by default, you don't need to enter any encryption key (WEP/WPA). To be
able to communicate, you must select the box Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even though it is not
secure.
in the taskbar displaying the Wireless Network Connection message.
