14.2 Status Fields

There are a number of different status codes, which give the user information about various aspects
of the anemometer. Each of these codes has an address field followed by a data field. The address
field defines which particular aspect of the anemometer the following data field refers to. The
address fields are defined as follows:

In normal operation the anemometer output cycles through the status codes 01 - 06 at each output
sample. If the anemometer detects an error then the status code 00 is displayed instead of the next
cyclic status code. When the error is cleared, the status codes will continue to cycle from where
they were interrupted.
If the error is caused by a transducer pair failure then the error code is displayed until the failure is
rectified.
If the error is caused by a memory or PRT failure, then after 16 consecutive failed readings, the
error condition is reduced to the error code history status and the error cleared.
The status data is output by the anemometer as a hex value, it needs to be converted to a binary
number in order to determine the information provided. For example; a value of h32 for status
address 02 would mean that the anemometer is configured to output in polar 360 wrap, with a full
scale deflection of ±10ms and with the SOS reporting sonic temperature in °C.
