STEP 10: NATURAL GAS UNITS REQUIRE USE OF AN AIR RESTRICTOR CUP. Place the cup on the burner
manifold tubing before attaching the gas control as shown above in STEP 7. Engage the slots from the cup
with the hemmed flanges of the burner. Engage the round bosses of the cup with the holes in the burner.
WARNING: ONCE THE BROODER IS ASSEMBLED AND BEFORE IT IS FIRST FIRED, YOU MUST CHECK FOR
GAS LEAKS! USE A SOAP AND WATER SOLUTION AND APPLY AT ORIFICE FITTING AND FIELD CONNECTIONS
TO THE GAS VALVE.
4.1) GAS VALVE WIRE CONNECTIONS
STEP 1: Flip the brooder over and feed the red and blue wire leads from the gas valve through the cable gland
of the ignition control box.
STEP 2: Connect both red wires marked 4 and 2 to the terminals of the 5-pole terminal block having a red
wire connected.
STEP 3: Connect both blue wires marked 1 and 3 to the terminals of the 5-pole terminal block having a blue
wire connected.
Refer to the wiring diagrams located in Section 8, Electrical Connections for the incoming power connections.
Retighten the cable gland after all wiring connections are complete.
