Precautions

Removing a memory module

To remove a memory module, proceed as follows:

Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripheral devices.

Unplug the computer and remove the battery pack.

Wait until the computer cools down.
The inside of a notebook becomes extremely hot during operation. Wait for about one hour for the
computer to cool down before you remove the screws.

Unscrew the six screws at the bottom of your computer.
Use a precision Phillips screwdriver that matches the size of the screw heads.

Slide the LCD lock lever and lift the cover.

Raise the palmrest towards you, turn it over, and then set it gently on the keyboard.

Before you remove the memory module , touch a metal part of the computer to discharge any static
electricity accumulated on your body.

Remove the memory module:
Carefully press down on the release tabs on either end of the memory module at the same time (1).
Pull out the memory module in the direction of the arrow (2).

Return the palmrest to its original position by aligning it with the notch on the keyboard and then
setting it on the keyboard. Handle the palmrest gently to avoid breaking the attached cable.

Close the display panel panel and replace the six screws on the bottom of the computer.
Use a Phillips (+) screwdriver to tighten all six screws.
