BEFORE BEGINNING ASSEMBLY Your MINICRAFT Flamin' Flathead model contains a wealth of highly detailed parts. Please take a moment to read the instruction sheet to become familiar with the parts before beginning assembly. ¥ Be sure to test the fit of all parts before gluing.

Right Left Assemble generator and mount (22/14/25), then attach assembly to engine. Cement belt and pulleys (56) to positions shown. Press fit exhausts (9/10) (do not glue) to engine block. Exhausts should be glued in place after fitting the engine to chassis (Step 20). Note that exhausts can be positioned either pointing out of the sides of the engine compartment or pointing downward.
Note tab alignment to part 52 when assembled. Cement parts (52/53) together. Pass rear axle assembly through hole Assemble rear axle halves (61/63), trapping metal in differential/driveshaft housing (52/53), aligning the small tab with slot axle between. on part 52. NOTE: All parts are shown upside down.

PLEASE NOTE ¥ It is especially important to check the fit of the custom chromed parts in the following steps. ¥ Additional sanding may be necessary due to the extra thickness of the chrome finish. ¥ Check all locating holes and open as necessary Trap tire between outer rim (42) and inner rim (72), then glue brake drum (55) to inner rim.

Note alignment (viewed from front). Trap tire between outer rim (42) and inner rim (40), then glue brake drum (38) to inner rim. Pass stub axle of part 31 through this assembly, then glue to hub (39). Cement support arms (34/30) to part 37. Pass stub on end of steering linkage (43) through hole in steering arm, then glue cap (71) on end.

NOTE: All parts are shown upside down. Glue brace (65) in place, attaching to stubs on forward crossbeam and also to the stub on the oil pan. NOTE Installed engine not shown for clarity. Seat must fold. Install seats as shown by sliding into holes in floor (do not glue). Assemble two front seats as shown.
Attach windshield I(4) to frame G(5). Glue firewall (Step 26) Cement knobs J(16) to interior door panels D(3/4), to body (A), then glue completed windshield in place. then cement inside body A. Carefully glue or cement windows Glue hinges F(5) to assembled body. I(5/6) to body.

Remove left (driver's) door. Cement steering wheel parts J(13/14/27) as shown and cement to steering linkage. Glue part E(4) to dash, positioning it around steering linkage. Replace door and tape in place. NOTE: Some parts omitted for clarity. Slide (DO NOT GLUE) parts F(5) onto hinge pins as shown. Be sure to align properly. Except as noted Rotate parts F(5) to touch body as shown.

Glue door handles J(29) to left and right doors. Carefully glue lenses I(3) to headlamp frame J(10) and glue to attachment points on front fenders. You may optionally use license plate frame H(19) for the rear or use frame H(20) for a front-mounted license plate.
Your Minicraft model includes high-quality waterslide decals. These decals adhere best to a glossy surface; and it is recommended that you apply a clear gloss coat over your painted model. Use a sharp scissors or knife to cut individual decals from the carrier sheet. Do not cut into the clear film surrounding the individual decals.
