    The equipment is designed for use with "standard" urethane foam spray systems. Other use of the equipment, or any part thereof, constitutes USE: misuse unless expressed written approval is obtained from GUSMER. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: When servicing or operating the equipment, sufficient protective clothing should be worn to prevent prolonged skin contact with the chemicals or solvents used in or with this equipment.

    Operating Manual Operation OPERATION DAILY STARTUP PROCEDURES 1. VALVING ROD ADJUSTMENT (for Closed position)-check the position of the valving rod with the gun in the closed position. The rod should extend approximately 1/32 inch (1mm) beyond the tip of the mixing chamber.

    Operating Manual Operation After you have developed a satisfactory pattern, take note of the temperatures you are using and the position of the notch on the adjustment screw. As you proceed to spray, the pattern may, on occasion, start to streak or change from what was established.

  • Page 24 GUSMER Model D Spray Gun As a general rule, the sleeve should be replaced when the check valve can be threaded all the way into the gun block by hand. A good check valve will require the use of the 5/16 spintite to accomplish the last 1/4 turn compressing the sleeve.

INSPECT GUN BLOCK AND GUN BLOCK PARTS BEFORE ASSEMBLY-it is important for the correct operation of the gun that all parts are cleaned and free from damage in any way. Inspect the individual parts for proper condition before commencing with the assembly.

    Operating Manual Troubleshooting TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES Valving Rod Does Not Open 1. Check the air supply. 2. Check for proper setting of the valving rod stop adjustment screw. 3. Check for proper adjustment of the felt wiper retainer.     Operating Manual Troubleshooting Leakage If leakage of chemical is evidenced from any of the areas as depicted below, proceed as follows: 1. Adjust the felt wiper in accordance with the Service and Maintenance Procedures. 2. The gun screen and check valves seal metal-to-metal seats.

    Chamber Description Chart There are six standard mixing chambers available from GUSMER which can be used interchangeably in the Model D Spray Gun. Below is a general description of the uses and design capabilities of the various size chambers. Actual pattern sizes and outputs achieved will depend on such variables as material viscosity, hose length, condition of equipment, environment, working pressure, etc.
