I'm trying to install the brake cable, and must have got it wrong. When I pull the lever to activate the brake, it will not lock into place. The manual shows pictures, but does not explain very well.

To properly install the brake cable on a Power King:
1. Insert the brake cable end into the holder. 2. Loosen the lock nut. 3. Install the brake wire and brake adjuster into the brake adjuster mount. 4. Tighten the adjuster and the lock nut. 5. Adjust the barrel adjuster to allow the brake cable to slide in. 6. Install the bolt, washer, and nut into the brake cable and brake arm. 7. Install the wheel with the brake drum. 8. Install the washer, nut, and cotter/lock pin. 9. Use the adjustable knob to fine-tune the brake tension—turn left to loosen, right to tighten.
This ensures the brake locks when the lever is pulled.
