OPERATION AND CARE OF YOUR
APPLIANCE
Appliance operation may be controlled by a
remotely located wall switch.
Gas Controls/Control Compartment Access
The gas controls can be found beneath the
bottom refractory. Remove the bottom refrac-
tory by lifting it up. Remove the access cover
(refer to Figure 26).

Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the area
of the appliance. Toddlers, young children and others may be susceptible
to accidental burns. A physical barrier is recommended if there are at-risk
individuals in the house. To restrict access to a fireplace or stove, install
an adjustable safety gate to keep toddlers, young children and other at-
risk individuals out of the room and away from hot surfaces.

To light these appliances refer to the detailed
lighting instructions found in both English and
French on Pages 20 and 21 of these instruc-
tions respectively. The appliance lighting
instructions may also be found on the pull
out lighting instruction labels attached to the
gas control valve (see Figure 26).

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Early signs
of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar
to the flu with headaches, dizziness and/
or nausea. If you have these signs, obtain
fresh air immediately. Turn off the gas sup-
ply to the appliance and have it serviced by
a qualified professional, as it may not be
operating correctly.

CLOTHING OR OTHER FLAMMABLE MA-
TERIALS SHOULD NOT BE HUNG FROM
THE APPLIANCE OR PLACED ON OR
NEAR THE APPLIANCE. NEVER PLACE
