WIND SCREEN

The camcorder automatically reduces
the background sound of wind when
recording outdoors.
• The wind screen cannot be turned off
when the mode switch is set to AUTO.
• Some low-frequency sounds will be
suppressed along with the sound of
wind. When recording in surroundings
unaffected by wind or if you want to
record low-frequency sounds, we
recommend setting the wind screen
to [
OFF
].

HDD USAGE INFO
Displays a screen where you can verify
the approximate used hard disk space.
This option is available only from the
original index screen.
• Hard disk space is calculated in
0.1 GB increments and rounded off.
In addition, some hard disk space is
used for file management data. As a
result, the total space will be slightly
less than 40 GB.
INITIALIZE HDD

Initializes the hard disk. This option is
available only from the original index
screen.

DROP SENSOR

Detects when the camcorder is dropped
and activates a protection mechanism to
help prevent hard disk damage. While the
mechanism is active,

may stop. This option is available only
from the original index screen.
• Keep this function set to [

hard disk damage should the
camcorder be dropped. Even if this
