3.2 Important notes on the usage of the eye bolts Eye bolt Shorter rope end, has to be tightened (no loose rope) Longer rope end, runs through the eye bolt Using the eye bolts, you can control the descent speed or stop the descent. The longer, unloaded rope end runs through the eye bolts.
3.3 Abseiling with MARK Allstar 3.3.1 Simple Abseiling passive Attach the rescue device to a proper anchor point. In both ways: using the eye bolt located on the side of the unloaded rope end will add friction when you hold back the unloaded rope end. This way you can reduce speed manually.
3.3.2 Simple Abseiling active For ergonomic rope handling and to create addi- tional friction use the third eye bolt. This way the rope runs from bottom to top. You can block the device after stopping by run- ning the rope out of the device making a U-turn to the eye bolt and back through the rope clamp as shown (grab the handwheel while doing this).
