Get ready

To upgrade the firmware for the Coolpix 2100, you will need:
A Coolpix 2100 digital camera
A UC-E6 USB cable
One of the following power sources:
- An EH-61 AC adapter
- A new CRV3 battery
- Two fully-charged EN-MH1 rechargeable batteries
A Nikon-approved CompactFlash memory card that has been formatted in the Coolpix 2100

  • Page 2 Untitled Document "E2100 V" will be displayed in the monitor, followed by the version number of the current camera firmware. If the monitor shows "E2100 V1.0", the current camera firmware is version 1.0. This upgrade can be used with firmware versions 1.0 or earlier. Turn the camera off.
  • Page 3 The firmware can be copied to the camera memory card either by connecting the computer directly to the Coolpix 2100 using the USB cable, or by removing the memory card from the camera and inserting it in a CompactFlash card reader.
  • Page 4 Insert the formatted memory card into the card reader. If Nikon View has been installed on the computer, Nikon Transfer will start automatically and display the message, "There is no selected transfer image in the camera or on the card." Click OK to exit Nikon Transfer.
