When typing phrases and sentences, don't type
apostrophes, commas, semicolons, colons, or pe-
riods. These punctuation marks will prevent pro-
nunciation. (The exceptions are Mr. , Mrs. , and
Ms. )
Also, don't type capital letters except at the start of
words. However, you can type and hear hyphen-
ated words (e.g., age-old ).

When you type or enter a word that has more than
one pronunciation and then press
like the one below appears.
Highlight a word and then press
hear its pronunciation.
More About Hearing Words
• You can hear English words in spelling correction
lists. Simply highlight a correction on the list and
then press
• You can't hear words when inflections or games
are on screen.
