Cleaning

Washing the Underside of the
Mower
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Wash the underside of the mower to prevent grass
buildup for improved mulch action and clipping
dispersal.
1. Park the tractor on a level surface.
2. Disengage the blade control (PTO) and set the
parking brake.
3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
4. Attach the coupling (not included) to the mower
washout fitting and turn the water on high
(Figure 34).

Note: Spread petroleum jelly on the washout fitting
o-ring to make the coupling slide on easier and
protect the o-ring.
5. Lower the mower to the lowest height of cut.
6. Sit on the seat and start the engine.
7. Engage the blade control (PTO) and let the mower
run for 1 to 3 minutes.
8. Disengage the blade control (PTO).
9. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
10. Remove the ignition key.
11. Turn the water off and remove the coupling from
the washout fitting and hose.
12. Run the mower again for 1 to 3 minutes to remove
the excess water.
3. Hose
A broken or missing washout fitting could
expose you and others to thrown objects or to
blade contact. Contact with the blade or thrown
debris contact may cause injury or death.
• Replace broken or missing washout fitting
immediately, before using the mower again.
• Plug any holes in the mower with bolts and
locknuts.
• Never put your hands or feet under the
mower or through openings in the mower.
