Is the mode dial turned
completely to a mode?
Is the camera connected to a
computer?
Is the camera connected to a
printer for direct printing?

Image problems

Images are out of focus
Cause
Did you operate the
auto-focus correctly?
Is the camera in the right
distance mode setting?
Is the lens dirty?
Turn the mode dial to exactly the mode you want and press the
POWER button.
When the camera is connected to a computer, the LCD screen is
disabled.
Try pressing a button. The printing progress is displayed on the
LCD screen. After a moment, the display disappears again.
What to do
Place the subject in the center of the focus area and press the
shutter button halfway. You see a green focus frame. See "Taking
Photos" on page 27 for details.
Make sure you are at least 20 inches away from your subject (or
2 inches in Macro mode).
See "Cleaning your camera" on page 68 and clean the lens.
