ECP2050 4. I NSTALLATION AND IRST TART Place the unit in a suitable location that satisfies the following conditions: • Horizontal place. • Keep at least 10 cm space behind the rear of the unit. • Keep away from equipment generating strong magnetic field.
ECP2050 Connect outlet capillary. Tighten capillary nut with side wrench 1/4" Connect the other end of capillary to injector valve. 4.3. Injector Holder and Column Holder Mounting Use Torx screwdriver TX20 to unscrew two screws in front part of the right panel of the unit.

ECP2050 4.6. Assemblage of Waste System he pump is equipped with waste channel, leading the liquid off the pumping block. In its proximity is leakage sensor. The function of the sensor is closely described in chapter 6.2.7, in chapter 6.4.3.4 is described the setting of IO INTERFACE Digital Out Switch – LEAKAGE signalizing the leakage of pump to another unit.

ECP2050 6. W ORKING WITH Menu enables setting all parameters and functions of the unit, its diagnostics and service. MAIN MENU is entered by pushing key MENU. In the menu you can move using arrows, ENTER and ESC. Any part of the menu can be abandoned by pressing key MENU. For better orientation in menu is in next chapter shown menu flow diagram and description of menu parts.
ECP2050 6.1.2.1. High Pressure Limit High pressure limit can be set in the range 1.0-30.0 MPa (150-4350 psi). Minimal value of high pressure limit is 1 MPa (150psi) higher than value of low pressure limits. Default value is 24 MPa (3480 psi).

Possibilities of setting are ENABLE (auto valves closing is enabled) or DISABLE (auto valves closing is disabled). ECP2050 6.2.5. Solvents In each sub menu are set possibilities to watch residual volume of mobile phase. 6.2.5.1. Solvents Limit Limit of mobile phase residual volume can be set in range 1-10000 ml. Default value is 100 ml. 6.2.5.2. Solvents Limit Use In this menu item can be set desired mode of warning regarding insufficiency of mobile.
ECP2050 6.3.1. Start Compensation Learning By entering this menu item, a pulsation compensation learning process starts. Before initiation of pulsation compensation learning, pump connects to column and starts pumping. It is ideal to carry out the learning process under working conditions, including used tubing, column etc.

ECP2050 Only the flowrate can be modified directly by pressing key FLOW in initialization phase and other steps. When setting FLOW CONTROL – ENABLE alteration made is applies only to given step and is not saved into the program. The following step runs according to program setting.

ECP2050 Graphic Presentation of Modification is Running Step In TIME TABLE is stated default program setting. During running program will be done two modifications. First modification is change of gradient concentration, proceeded during step 0 from %A = 70 to %A´ = 90. Second is modification of start time of step 3, done during step 2 from t3 = 5 min to t3´= 4 min.
ECP2050 6.3.5. Open/Close Gradient Valves This item enables to open valves (A, B, C, D) manually when the pump is stopped, respectively it enables to close open valves when the pump is not running. It is used during pump service, when it is necessary to disconnect the flow system, where mobile phase flows by gravity.
ECP2050 Socket for connecting Ethernet is on rear panel of the unit and has two signalization diodes: Location Description LED1 Meaning: OFF = no connection; orange = 10Mbps; green = 100 Mbps. LED2 Meaning: OFF = no activity; orange = half-duplex mode; green = fully duplex mode.

ECP2050 Diagnostics of actual IO INTERFACE status can be done in Menu/Diagnostics/Interface. For digital inputs value OPEN (H) means opened input, high level and CLOSE (L) means closed input, low level. For digital output is displayed OFF (for open switch) and ON (for closed switch).
ECP2050 6.4.3.3. Digital Input 2 The same possibilities and setting as for Digital input 1. 6.4.3.4. Digital Output Switch Digital output (DIGITAL OUTPUT SWITCH) can be used as follows: ETTING CTION ON IGITAL UTPUT Setting Description The output is not controlled by any action. Default setting.
ECP2050 6.5.3. Ethernet Displays information about actual setting of ethernet. IP-IP address of the unit, MASK – subnet mask, GATE – default gateway, MAC – unique hardware address. 6.5.4. User Text User information about the unit. This information can be set only through PC. It serves for user description of the unit, its placement etc.
ECP2050 more then one error. When entering this detailed screen, an actual status is displayed and it is not updated. For updating this information, it is necessary to re-enter this screen. For quick access to error and warning descriptions, the QUICK DIAGNOSTICS screen is displayed, which can be called from the main screen by pressing ENTER.

ECP2050 Pull the head straightly out of the piston. Leaning the head to sides may cause piston damage! Detail of working head. Remove the seal using a suitable tool. Wash and clean the piston and interior of the head with isopropanol.

ECP2050 pump output. Put the inlet tubing and output capillary into same reservoir with solvent isopropanol: water 1:1. Set flow rate to 50 ml/min, start pumping and set pressure at 10MPa using reduction valve. Let the pumping for at least 30 min (optimal 2 h). Keep the flow rate at 50 ml/min and set pressure at 20MPa.

ECP2050 Remove the holder with inlet valve. Take out inlet valve from the holder. Replace the inlet valve with a new one. Loosen capillary on outlet valve holder using side wrench 1/4" and bend it slightly. Or you can dismount the connecting capillary completely.
ECP2050 6.7.1.4. Needle of Degassing/Purging Valve Disconnect the unit from power source!!! Unscrew needle. Screw new needle. 6.7.1.5. O-ring in Degassing/Purging Valve Disconnect the unit from power source!!! Unscrew two screws using screwdriver TX20 from unit accessories. Take out the degassing/purging valve.

ECP2050 6.7.2.1. Pressure Sensor In this menu item is calibrated zero of pressure sensor. For user is available only item OFFSET AUTO, where is pressure sensor zero set automatically. Calibration is proceeded on stopped pump. At first loosen purge/degassing valve and then press ENTER for proceeding automatical calibration.

ECP2050 9. R EPLACEMENT OF Disconnect the unit from power source!!! Using a flat-tip screwdriver release the fuse holder from its bottom. Take out the fuse holder. Replace the old line fuse. In the holder insert new fuse from unit accessories, its value is stated on unit label.

Try to purge the pump again and watch tubing after connected mobile phase filter, for bubble formation. If any bubbles are formed there, exchange/rinse this filter.
