    OPERATION FACEPLATE TURNING Faceplate turning operations are performed when a workpiece is mounted to the faceplate, which is mounted to the headstock spindle. This type of turning is ideal for open-faced workpieces such as bowls. If your workpiece diameter is greater than 12”, proceed to the Outboard Turning section.
