Resetting the GSM Module PGSM4 Light to Factory Settings

1. By special command

GSM module versions 12.15, 12.15b, 12.16, 12.16b (version can be requested by the command
VERSION?) support the command for resetting the module to the factory settings:
HEATER OR
The receiving and launching of the command are not confirmed by the module. The sign that
reset was successful is the change of indication from 4 to 3 flashes. If the command is not
supported by current version (Incorrect message answered) or is not delivered to the module,
apply hardware reset.

2. Hardware reset

· Disconnect the GSM module from the kit, disassemble its housing, unplug the 6LR61
battery (if it was installed early) and take of the printed circuit board (PCB). Prepare
6LR61 battery in a good condition. If the unplugged battery has voltage level below 9V,
replace it with a new one.
· Connect the outer bi-color LED from the GSM module set to the PCB
· Connect the battery to one terminal

  • Page 2 · Close the XS9 pins 1 and 2 on PCB. Use housing’s screw or screwdriver from the set · Push on battery’s connector thus connecting the battery to second terminal. The LED will go on for 2 seconds and then should go off. Keep on holding the battery connected for 15 seconds more.
  • Page 3 · Open the XS9 pins 1 and 2. With SIM installed the LED should flash by 3 green flashes in series.
