INSTALLING THE IRM
2. Attach the female end of an AUI cable, no more than 50 meters in
length, to the transceiver.
3. Attach the male connector on the AUI cable (3, Fig. 3-4) to the AUI
port (2) on the IRM.
4. Move the slide latch (1) on the AUI Port to secure it to the lock post
on the AUI connector.

Connecting to the Network Via the BNC Port

To connect to the network via the BNC Port:
1. Attach a BNC tee-connector (2, Fig. 3-5) to the BNC port (4) on the
module.
2. Attach the thin-net segment (1) to one of the female connectors on the
tee-connector.
NOTE: Each segment attached to the tee-connector must be terminated.
If a segment is not attached to one of the female connections on the
tee-connector, then a terminator must be placed on that connection.
3. Attach another thin-coax segment (3, View A) or a terminator (5,
View A) to the other female connector on the tee-connector.
