RM4200 Series User Guide Bullhorn System Overview ® Bullhorn is a wireless telemetry system that provides scheduled and by-exception inbound reporting for field equipment typically located in remote areas. Data and alarm packets transmit from remote field locations to your account on the secure Bullhorn Web (https://www.bullhornsys.com) using digital cellular or satellite communication networks.
Satellite signal strength can be verified before completing installation (refer to Test Satellite Reception, page 21). Only accessories that meet American Innovations specifications may be used with the RM4200 ARNING Series units. Refer to Appendix A, Technical Specifications on page 52 for a list of accessories and requirements.

RM4200 Series User Guide Installation Requirements The RM4210 and RM4211 remote monitoring units (RMUs) are designed to be installed on top of a test station using an adapter. The dimensions of the unit and test station adapter are shown below. Figure 2-4.

Rotate clockwise to secure the adapter onto the test station. Drop the tether cord attached to the RM4210 down into the test station. Ensure the tether end catches across the diameter of the test station.

The RM4210 makes a clicking sound after connecting the batteries. This is a normal function and indicates the unit is powered on.

Do not twist the dome on the adapter if the cut-outs do not line up with the screws. Lift MPORTANT the dome off of the adapter and replace it in the correct position.

RM4200 Series User Guide If you are unsure of satellite coverage or if the unit is placed in an area that is heavily covered by foliage, first check satellite reception by completing the steps in the Testing Satellite Reception section. When finished, complete the installation procedures.
RM4200 Series User Guide Testing Satellite Reception Before completing the final installation, you can ensure that the RM4210 or RM4211 has adequate satellite signal to communicate with the Bullhorn Web account using Bullhorn Tools. If reception is minimal, the unit may not be able to send information to the website.
RM4200 Series User Guide Click or tap Refresh to get current unit settings, including the satellite signal strength ( Radio SNR ). If using Bullhorn Tools Mobile, or tap to see Radio SNR. Click or tap Send Test Message to update the Radio SNR reading. To ensure proper communication with the satellite, the Radio SNR reading should be at least 40 dB .
Configuration Unit configuration can be done using Bullhorn Tools, which is available in a software version or a mobile app. Before beginning the configuration process, determine which version of Bullhorn Tools you will need to configure your unit: • RM4210 units can be configured with either version of Bullhorn Tools. •...

Use Bullhorn Tools to complete the following configuration tasks on the unit: • Viewing Unit Information — The main Bullhorn Tools Unit Overview window displays current unit information, Readings measurements, test message status, battery data, over-current relay status, transmission schedule, and coupon information.

Working with Templates After configuring a unit, the settings can be saved in a template.

RM4200 Series User Guide Setting Transmission and Measurement Schedules The transmission schedule determines when and how often the measurements (stored in a data log) are transmitted to your Bullhorn Web account. However, measurements will also be sent to your account before the data log exceeds the memory limit allowed on the unit.

RM4200 Series User Guide If the test coupon relay (Test Cpn Relay) is tripped due to an over-current condition, the relay goes into an Open state and displays in the Relay States pane as in alarm (gray bubble turns to red). Also, the test coupon’s AC and DC current density readings will not display, and the AC and DC pipe-to-soil and instant off readings display as INVALID in both Bullhorn Tools and the Bullhorn Web account.
