BASIC FUNCTIONS FOR USE ON A PC

When you plug the device into the USB port of your PC, you will see a "Removable Disk" icon in the file manager
window. (If you are using Windows 98, you must install the driver before you install the application software.)

FOR USE ON A MAC

If using the DiskGO! Watch on a Macintosh, using OS 9.0 or higher, when you plug the watch into the USB port, you
will see the disk icon on the Desktop.
For MAC OS 8.6, you must download the necessary USB mass storage driver from Apple's website before using the
DiskGO! USB Watch Drive.
If using MAC OS 10.2 or higher and you get a persistent Initialization Error, you may need to download the MAC OS
10.2x or 10.3x patch. This patch is available for download from our website at http://www.edgetechcorp.com/support/
diskgowatch.asp.
In Linux OS, you can use the following instruction to "mount" the device:
1) Plug the device into the USB port of your computer.
2) Execute cd /etc/sysconfig ( cat /etc/sysconfig/hwconf | more )
3) Check the device information in hwconf; write down the mount point.
4) Make a directory in /mnt ( ex: mkdir /mnt/usbHD ).
5) Execute mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbHD (if mount point was .dev/sda)

Read/Write Capability

You can read, write, copy, and delete files and data as you do files and data on a hard drive or floppy disk.

Unplugging the Device

IMPORTANT! DANGER! HOLD THE CABLE FIRMLY WHEN UNPLUGGING IT.
