    Unpacking Your packing box should contain the following items: • The VXSwitch32-SA or VXSwitch32-V plug-in card. • Multi-way splitter cables. (4 for the VXSwitch32-SA and 2 for the VXSwitch32-V). • VSRC-set ribbon cables (VXSwitch32-V only) • Installation CD-ROM. Notes: All plug-in cards are static sensitive and are packed in antistatic materials.

    Video Inputs/ The video signals are connected to the VXSwitch-32 using 16- Outputs way splitter cables (provided). The cable consists of 16 BNC sockets connected to a 26-way D plug. The D plug should be connected to the Input sockets on the back panel of the VXSwitch-32 cards.

    Windows® 2000 and Windows® XP can be installed on your system using one of the following methods: • The CD supplied with the VXSwitch-32 card. • The EMS Web Site. From the CD Insert the CD into your CD ROM drive, from either the Run menu option or using Explore to browse the CD, locate the setup program, e.g.
  • Page 11 • Once the download is complete, unzip the file, locate and double click on the VXSwitch setup.exe file and the instal- lation process will commence. • Follow the Installation Wizard instructions as prompted. Note: When the application installs on Windows® 2000, the New Hardware Wizard will run.

    Using the Application A simple application program is provided with the VXSwitch-32 which allows the crosspoint switch to be controlled manually. To open the VXSwitch-32 application, select the icon located in start menu group: Start | Program | VXSwitch-32 that was cre- ated during installation, once selected the application window is displayed.

    File Menu Open... • Select this option to open a previously saved configuration. Save... Select this option to save any changes to a configuration. This option is only activated if a previously saved configuration has been opened and amended. Save As... Select this option to save a newly created configuration.

    Installing VXSwitch32-V with Vigilant Cards The VXSwitch32-V is connected to the Vigilant card via inter- card ribbon cables, (VSRC-set) enabling the Vigilant video overlays to select 1 of 32 possible video sources. The VXSwitch32-V supports up to eight Vigilant-Plus cards Install and configure all Vigilant-Plus cards in the system, care- fully following the iH installation instructions.
