4. Discharging When the battery has been discharged at a high rate it will become warm, and it is advisable to let it cool before charging it. When not in use, batteries should be kept in an unlinked state to ensure a lower self-discharge rate.

For long-term storage, batteries should be in a half-charged state (between 20% and 80%), and not linked.
