5. Remove the front Wi-Fi antenna, if any. See "Front Wi-Fi antenna" on page 82.
6. Remove the antenna bracket.
Heat sink
Prerequisite
Before you start, read Chapter 1 "Important safety information" on page 1 and print the following
instructions.
The heat sink might be very hot. Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several
minutes until the computer is cool.
Removal steps
1. Remove the computer cover. See "Computer cover" on page 67.
2. Remove the hard disk drive, if any. See "Hard disk drive and hard disk drive bracket" on page 69.
3. Remove the internal speaker, if any. See "Internal speaker" on page 71.
4. Remove the system fan. See "System fan" on page 72.
5. Remove the heat sink.
Notes:
• Carefully remove the following screws from the system board to avoid any possible damage to the
system board. The screws cannot be removed from the heat sink.
• You might have to gently twist the heat sink to free it from the microprocessor.
• Do not touch the thermal grease while handling the heat sink.
