    Children may be seriously injured or killed by an inflating airbag. All children, even those too large for child restraints, must ride in the rear seat.   • Page 43 B180B03JM-AAT Pre-tensioner Seat Belt Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts. The purpose of the pre-tensioner is to make sure that the seat belts fit tightly against the occupant's body in certain frontal collisions.
  • Page 44 Do not attempt to inspect or replace the pre-tensioner seat belts yourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer. o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.

    RESTRAINT (AIRBAG) SYSTEM (SRS) B240A02E-AAT Driver's Airbag B240A01JM Your Hyundai is equipped with an advanced Supplemental Restraint (Airbag) System. The indications of the system's presence are the letters "SRS AIRBAG" embossed on the airbag pad cover in the steering wheel and the passenger's side front panel pad above the glove box.
  • Page 46 If the SRS airbag warning light (see pg 1- 48) remains illuminated while the vehicle is being driven, have an authorized Hyundai dealer inspect the airbag sys- tem as soon as possible. o Airbags can only be used once – have an authorized Hyundai dealer replace the airbag immediately after deployment.

    If the light stays on with the engine running, turn the engine off imme- diately. In any instance where the oil light stays on when the engine is running, the engine should be checked by a Hyundai dealer before the car is driven again.
  • Page 61 After adding fluid, if no other trouble is found, the car should be immediately and care- fully driven to a Hyundai dealer for inspection. If further trouble is experienced, the vehicle should not be driven at all but taken to a dealer by a professional towing service.
