• Frequently Asked Questions

1) Are there different sizes of the iFIT Prosthesis?
Yes, there are two different sizes: standard and wide. Each can be adjusted by the wearer when volume
changes occur. Larger adjustments can be made by the prosthetist.
2) What happens if I have reached the limit of how far I can adjust my prosthesis?
Always contact your prosthetist if the device is not getting tight enough; it is critical the prosthesis has
a snug fit. Your prosthetist can make larger adjustments by making simple modifications to your prosthesis.
3) How many times a day should I adjust the buckle system?
This will depend on how much volume change you experience. We suggest assessing your device every
couple of hours or after extended ambulation/activity to ensure it is snug.
4) Can I wear the prosthesis in the water?
Yes, you can wear the prosthesis in the water provided you have a waterproof foot and knee. If you are
wearing the prosthetic in saltwater always rinse with freshwater after.
5) What is the max weight of the prosthesis?
The maximum weight is 300 pounds.
6) Are parts on this prosthesis replaceable?
Most parts of the prosthetic can be replaced. Contact your prosthetist if you notice excessive wear in your liner,
cables or other components.
7) How long is my device warrantied for?
Every iFIT prosthesis is guaranteed for a one year period.
8) This prosthesis does not go as high up my hip as a conventional prosthetic, will I have less stability?
During our testing we found that the prosthesis does not need to go higher up the limb to provide stability.
By having the prosthesis tightly buckled, there is enough purchase to provide adequate stability for ambulation.
9) Is there a certain order which I should use to buckle the prosthesis?
We suggest starting with the middle or upper cable first and the bottom last. You may need to re-adjust
a couple times to find the appropriate fit.
10) Can I get this device with suction suspension or vacuum?
The iFIT Prosthesis can only be used with pin suspension at this time.
