General safety instructions
The scales are intended for household use only. Do not use the device for industrial and commercial purposes.
Avoid getting water or other liquid inside the balance, as it may cause malfunction.
Do not drop, stroke or heat the device.
To prevent damage to the mechanism do not drop heavy objects on the scale. Do not try to weigh the objects whose weight greatly exceeds the maximum permissible value
for this model.
Avoid weighing frozen and highly heated food products. Its temperature should not differ by more than 15 °C from the ambient temperature.
Do not dispose of the used batteries with the household waste. Do not throw the batteries in a fire, as they may explode. Used batteries must be disposed of.
This device is not intended for use by people (including children) who have physical, nervous or mental disabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless such
persons are supervised or instructed regarding the use of this device by the person responsible for their safety. It is necessary to supervise children in order to prevent their
games with the device.
After the end of the service life do not dispose of the device with household waste. Hand it over to a special collection point for future disposal. This will help protect the
environment.
Scope of use
The device is intended only for household use in accordance with this manual. The device is not intended for industrial use.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for damage resulting from improper use or use unintended in this Manual.
Description of the device
The PKS 0558DM is a self-powered, touch-sensitive electronic device for weighing food products in a residential area temperature and humidity.
Outdoor use is not provided.

Starting procedure and use
To obtain the most reliable readings, the scales should be installed on a flat, solid, horizontal surface. Avoid drafts when weighing the food products.
Installing and changing the batteries (Fig. 1)
Turn the scales over.
Open the battery compartment by sliding the cover.
Remove the used battery.
Install a new battery with the positive pole up. (For initial installation, a battery is included in the supply
package. In this case, remove the dielectric gasket from the battery compartment).
Close the compartment cover.
Attention! Observe polarity when installing the batteries.
Turn on/off (Fig. 2)
Turning on/off the scales and zeroing the tare is carried out by the ON/OFF TARE located on the lower right of the display. To turn off, press and hold the On/Off Tare button
for more than 2 seconds.
Attention! The scales automatically switch off if not used for 1 minute.
The selection of the measurement units is carried out by the MEASUREMENT UNITS sensor located at the upper right of the display.
You can weigh products in metric system (g) or ounces (oz). To convert the weight of water to millilitres, use the appropriate measure (ml). You can change the measure
of weight at any time by the Measurement Unit sensor in the weighing mode. Indication of the current weight measure will be shown in the upper line of the display.
Weight measurement
1.
Turn on the scales.
2.
Wait until the display shows the 0 value and the selected units in the top line of the display.
3.
Put the product to be weighed on the platform.
4.
The product weight will be shown on the display.
5.
To correctly display the weight of the product it should not be lighter than 50g and heavier than 5 kg.
TARE function
The TARE function is intended for weighing products in an additional reservoir.
Attention: The minimum weight of the reservoir for operation in the TARE mode should be 50 g.
1.
Place the reservoir on the glass platform of the scale. The display will show the weight of the reservoir.
2.
Press the ON/OFF TARE BUTTON. The display will reset to zero. The TARE icon will be displayed in the lower left corner.
3.
Put the food products in the reservoir. The display will show the weight of the products without taking into account the weight of the reservoir.
4.
This process can be repeated several times. To weigh other products, place them in a reservoir.
5.
To weigh the low weight products, such as kitchen herbs and spices, it is necessary to use an additional reservoir weighing at least 50 g. After zeroing the tare weight
(see Section 2) the products can be poured with a thin trickle into an additional reservoir to the required weight.
