Capacitance Measurements
For motor-start and motor-run capacitors. Disconnect the
capacitor from power first. Short the terminals to discharge
the capacitors. Disconnect any resistors that might be be-
tween the terminals of the capacitor.
Non-Contact Voltage Indicator
Remove the test leads from the meter. Push the "NCV"
button (6) at any selected function/Range. Then the dis-
play will be shut down and LED (5) flashes with a short
"chirp" sound for self-test.
With the NCV tab on the tip of the clamp close to an AC
voltage, Press the "NCV" button (6), the NCV LED (4) will
light and the beeper will beep. The closer you get to AC
voltage, the louder the beep.
(Hl-V) Hi Voltage Warning
In any Vac/Vdc range when you touch a voltage greater than
30V, the beeper will beep and the red "Hi-V" LED (3) will
blink. BE CAREFUL!
Clean Power Indicator
When the 60Hz AC power is clean, the green LED (5) will be
on. If you're connected to AC power and the green clean
power LED is not on, the power is dirty. You may want to in-
vestigate further with more specialized equipment.
MIN/MAX and Data HOLD
Press MIN/MAX (7) once to begin recording MIN and MAX.
Press MIN/MAX (7) to select current reading MIN or MAX.
Hold down for 2 seconds to exit MIN/MAX function. Press
HOLD (8) to hold data.
HOLD Button
Press "HOLD" button (8) to toggle in and out of the Data
Hold mode. In the Data Hold mode, the "HOLD" annunciator
is displayed and the last reading is frozen on the display.
Press the "HOLD" button again to exit and resume readings.
