USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE

1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
 WARNING! Ensure all Health and Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are strictly adhered to when using this
product.
 IMPORTANT! NOT FOR USE WITH TOXIC PAINTS SUCH AS ISOCYANATES.
 WARNING! DO NOT use in an oxygen deficient atmosphere (below 19% by volume).
 WARNING! DO NOT use in an oxygen enriched atmosphere (above 25% by volume).
 Respirator selection must be undertaken by a competent person who is aware of the intended conditions of use. Only fit the respirator under
the supervision of a competent person.
 If in doubt as to suitability of the equipment for the work to be undertaken, consult your supplier.
 Before use, check that the mask is clean and in good condition. If you detect deterioration of valve diaphragms, or other rubber components,
replace immediately.
 Check that the correct cartridge is fitted to suit the hazard and that all components are correctly assembled and in a clean condition.
 Change the main filter cartridge frequently. The effective life of a main filter should be determined by a competent person who is aware of the
conditions of use.
 Ensure you use recommended parts only, unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate any warranty.
 Only when worn correctly fitted will the mask provide the prescribed degree of protection.
 Ensure the face-piece fits comfortably on the face.
 WARNING! Mask may not fit correctly if facial hair passes under the face-seal.
 Upon leaving the contaminated area, remove excess contamination from clothes before removing the respirator.
 After each working period, respirator must be cleaned and prepared for the next period of use.
 Ensure you use only recommended filters.
 DO NOT use detergents, thinners, solvents or petroleum-based disinfectant to clean the respirator. Clean the unit with warm soapy water only.
 DO NOT allow water to get into the main filter.
 Care must be taken to ensure the rubber seal on the inside of the filter holder is not damaged.
 Ensure you keep records of respirator maintenance.
 When not in use, store the cleaned respirator in a sealed plastic bag in a clean, dry atmosphere out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of
children.
2. INTRODUCTION
The ssP1604 Paint spray Respirator conforms to appropriate HsE legislation requirements, European standard En140 for Half Masks which is a
Harmonised standard under the 89/686 EEC PPE Directive. The respirator also meets the following requirements:
Control of substances Hazardous to Health (COsHH) Regulations 1988.
Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations.
Control of Asbestos at Work (CAW) Regulations.
Ionising Radiation (IR) Regulations 1985.
Comfortable to wear, the non-dermatitic rubber face-piece with a two-strap elasticated harness and a quick release buckle, is based on successful
ergonomic design. Backed by a range of large-diameter, colour-coded filters to reduce breathing resistance and give top performance against a
wide range of hazards, the ssP1604 is an exceptional choice for the industrial user.
Spare filters are supplied as a kit under part number SSP1604FP, which consists of 2 x (A1+P2 pre-filters) and 6 x Pre Filters.
The mask is fitted with 2 x A1+P2 filters which conform to En141.
FILTER MARkINGS
A1 - Low Capacity, Organic Gas/Vapour filters from compounds with a boiling point above 65°C.
P2 - Medium Effiency Dust Filter.
3. MASk ASSEMbLY
no assembly is required for the ssP1604 Respirator, simply unpack and check for any damage. Make sure you read the entire instruction booklet
thoroughly before using this product.
Below are diagrams showing how to remove the pre-filter from the filter cartridge and also the positioning of the filter cartridges, which are screwed
onto the body of the respirator.
