  • Page 94 Rainsense Wipers (STS Only) This feature is mounted on the passenger’s interior side of the windshield behind the rearview mirror and is used to automatically operate the wipers by monitoring the amount of moisture that is on the windshield. The Rainsense system can be activated by turning the wiper stalk to one of the five sensitivity levels within the AUTO DELAY area.
  • Page 95 Windshield Washer CAUTION: In freezing weather, don't use your washer until the windshield is warmed. Otherwise the washer fluid can form ice on the windshield, blocking your vision. PUSH Press and hold the paddle to wash the windshield. Release the paddle when you have enough fluid. The wipers will clear the windshield and either stop or return to your preset speed.
  • Page 96 CAUTION: Cruise control can be dangerous where you can’t drive safely at a steady speed. So, don’t use your cruise control on winding roads or heavy traffic. Cruise control can be dangerous on slippery roads. On such roads, fast changes in tire traction can cause needless wheel spinning, and you could lose control.

  • Page 98 Increasing Speed While Using Cruise Control There are two ways to increase your speed. Here’s the first: 1. Use the accelerator pedal to go to a higher speed. 2. Push the button at the end of the lever and then release the button and the accelerator pedal.
  • Page 99 Using Cruise Control on Hills How well your cruise control will work on hills depends upon your speed, load and the steepness of the hills. When going up steep hills, you may have to step on the accelerator pedal to maintain your speed. When going downhill, you may have to brake or shift to a lower gear to keep your speed down.
  • Page 100 Pull the knob to the first stop to turn and taillamps, sidemarker lamps and instrument panel lights. Pull the knob out all the way to turn on the headlamps. You can brighten or dim the instrument cluster by rotating the headlamp knob. Press the knob all the way in turn them off.

No other exterior lamps such as the parking lamps, taillamps, etc. will be on when the DRL are being used. Your instrument panel won't be lit up either. In cold weather, when the system senses the need for heat, the airflow will be directed out the floor outlets. As the interior temperature approaches a desired setting, the blower speed will decrease.

Passing another vehicle on a two-lane highway is a potentially dangerous move, since the passing vehicle occupies the same lane as oncoming traffic for several seconds.

Each new wheel should have the same load carrying capacity, diameter, width, offset and be mounted the same way as the one it replaces.
  • Page 302 Used Replacement Wheels CAUTION: Putting a used wheel on your vehicle is dangerous. You can’t know how it’s been used or how many miles it’s been driven. It could fail suddenly and cause an accident. If you have to replace a wheel, use a new GM original equipment wheel.

Follow the solvent-type instructions described earlier.

Never use oils, varnishes, solvent-based or abrasive cleaners, furniture polish or shoe polish on leather. Soiled leather should be cleaned immediately.
