Folding and unfolding your wheelchair To open the chair; Take a position at one side of the wheelchair. (with rear wheels on) Take hold of the handgrip nearest to you and lean the chair toward you, so that the front castor and rear wheel on the opposite side leave the ground by 150mm (6’’) Whilst retaining a grip on the handgrip, place your hand on the seat rail nearest to you and push down, the chair will partially open.
Flip back armrest Armrests are supplied in desk length (shown) or full length. To adjust armrest height; 1. lever (1), pull out to adjust height of arm pad Tear drop by lifting or lowering, once height is determined release lever and move armrest slightly up and down, the tear drop lever pin will settle in the nearest locking point.
Leg rests assembly Leg rests are supplied in pairs one left one right. To install; From the side take the leg rest and insert onto the locking pins (1) located at the front of the chair, swing the leg rest to the front, the leg rest will lock into position, the footplate should be on the inside of the chair.
Wheel lock/Brake SIDE VIEW TOP VIEW Each chair is supplied with two wheel locks. To apply wheel locks; Whilst sitting in the chair push the brake handle (1) forward until the brake locks against the wheel tyre. To release wheel locks; Whilst sitting in the chair pull the brake handle (1) to the rear until the brake releases from the wheel tyre.
Castor/Upholstery Castor The castors are a sealed unit and require little or no maintenance If maintenance is required, it is recommended that a trained technician performs this task. Upholstery. With proper care your upholstery should give you years of troublefree service, It is important that you read the following.
Wheels and axles Self-propelling wheels (quick release axles) 1 To remove the large rear wheels (1) it is necessary to depress the button and hold (3) on the quick release axle whilst pulling on the wheel. SAFETY INSPECTION CHECKLIST Note: Twice a year take your wheelchair to a qualified dealer for a thorough inspection and servicing. Regular cleaning will reveal loose or worn parts and enhance the smooth operation of your wheelchair. To operate properly and safely, your wheelchair must be cared for just like any other vehicle.

SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES Before using your Invacare wheelchair, make sure all nuts and bolts are tight. Check all parts for damage or wear and replace. Check all parts for proper adjustment. The wheels and tyres should be checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced when necessary by your authorised dealer or by a qualified technician.
