To reset the encoder board on a Corghi EM8540, follow these steps:

1. Remove the weight-holder lid.
2. Remove the search circuit board by undoing the two M8 screws.
3. Refit the search circuit board with the two M8 bolts, ensuring the encoder disk teeth run inside the fork without collisions.
4. Reconnect the pickup cable and the search circuit board.
5. Close the weight-holder lid.
6. Run a three spin cycle sensitivity calibration.

Hello, my machine is showing 0.00 balance all the time when trying to balance any tire. any ideas?

The Corghi EM8540 machine could display a 0.00 balance when attempting to balance a tire due to the following reasons:

1. Spin Stopped Prematurely (ERR STP) – If the spin stops before completing the acquisition cycle, it could result in incorrect or incomplete readings.
2. Unsecured Ring Nut – If the ring nut is not fully tightened, the wheel may not be properly secured, leading to incorrect balance readings.
3. No Wheel Mounted – Running a spin cycle without a wheel could cause the machine to display a 0.00 balance.
4. Obstructions During Spin – If the drive roller, brake shoe, or weight-holder lid touches the unit during the spin, it may interfere with the balancing process and result in an incorrect reading.
5. Excessive Unbalance or Machine Jolt (CCC Error) – If the machine experiences excessive unbalance or is jolted during the reading stage, it could affect the accuracy of the balance measurement.

Checking these factors and ensuring proper operation should help resolve the issue.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION All EM85XX balancing machines operate on single-phase power and are supplied preset for the specified power supply (115 V, 280V or 230 V AC). To modify this setting, the transformer primary must be adjusted to the available mains voltage. SERVICE PROGRAMS The purpose of these programs is to provide the information required for quickly and efficiently testing the various parts of the machine.

The program is used for: - maximum precision display of the unbalance values so as to be able to balance the wheel perfectly and run further checks on it; - maximum precision display (tenth of an inch) of the correspondence between the diameter and width values measured with the automatic sensors and the nominal wheel dimensions.

if this condition obtains, when the machine is switched on it displays "ERR10"; when the sensor arm is moved 2 mm away from the standby position, the microswitch is closed; at this point the "ERR10" message is cancelled. To adjust the position of the sensor, move it on its axis with the two nuts securing it to the mount.

If the values displayed after the spin cycle are not within the specified ranges, use the stud bolts to tighten down the pickups until the readings are correct.
