Steering Wheel Assembly

NOTE: On Snapper models the steering wheel must be
secured using the top hole and roll pin (B, Figure 4).
1. Remove the plastic tie securing the steering wheel.
2. Coat the steering shaft with anti-seize lubricant.
3. Early Tilt Models: Insert the key (A, Figure 3) into the
steering shaft (B), and install the steering wheel (C).
Secure with a washer and locknut (D). Install the cap.
Later Tilt Models & Non-Tilt Models: Place the
steering wheel (C, Figure 4) on the shaft with the
thicker spoke facing the seat. Align the hole in the
steering wheel with the bottom hole in the shaft (A),
and insert the roll pin (B) to secure steering wheel to
shaft.
Seat & Safety Switch Assembly
1. Install the carriage bolts, spacers, washers, and nuts
(A, Figure 5) in the hinge in the desired holes.
2. Make sure the seat safety switch (B) is connected.
Check
Fluid Levels
Fill & Check Engine Oil
1. Use the dipstick (A, Figure 6) to check the engine oil
level. If necessary add engine oil. Check engine
manufacturer's owner's manual for oil recommenda-
tions.
