Soldering Instructions

1. Thoroughly clean and remove oil and other contaminants from the parts to be
soldered.
2. Use only small amounts of solder. Excess solder can cause a short circuit.
3. Slide the soldering iron switch to the ON position and press and hold the power
button. The LED light will illuminate indicating that the iron is on.
4. Allow the tip to reach working temperature (about 10 seconds). Apply a small amount
of solder to tapered surface of tip. Remove excess solder with a damp soft rag or
sponge.
5. Tin wires by heating the bare wire and allowing a small amount of solder to ow onto
the tip of the wire.
6. Touch the tapered surface of the tip (not the point) to the joint to be soldered. Heat
joint and allow heat from joint to melt solder.
7. Allow a small amount of solder to ow into the joint.
8. To ensure a strong joint, do not touch or move the joint until it has cooled completely.
Heat Shrink Instructions
1. Slide soldering iron switch to the ON position and press and hold the power button.
The LED light will illuminate indicating the iron is on.
2. Keep the shrink tip moving back and forth along the length of tube(less than diameter
4.0mm), as staying in one place can damage the tube or wire even further.
3. Continue heating the tube until it is tightly secured to the wire.
How To Replace The Tip
1. Ensure soldering iron switch is in the OFF position. Allow tip to cool completely
before replacing tip.
2. Use only genuine replacement tips.
3. Unscrew old tip by rotating translucent locking nut counterclockwise.
4. Screw in new tip by rotating translucent locking nut clockwise until it snaps on lock
position. Note: Align the notch on the housing to install the new tip.
5. Do not le tip.
