Alert display area

Red-colored alert indicators will be displayed
in the alert display area for "Overheat alert",
"Low oil pressure alert", "Water in fuel alert",
"Low battery voltage alert", and "Check en-
gine alert/maintenance alert". If an alert indi-
cator is displayed, follow the instructions for
responding to each specific alert.

■ Overheat alert

The cooling water temperature icon blinks
when the engine temperature rises too high.
Additionally, the engine speed becomes lim-
ited and an alert buzzer sounds. Stop the en-
gine and check that the cooling water inlet on
the lower case is not clogged.
NOTICE
• Do not operate the outboard motor
when the overheat alert is displayed.
Otherwise,
severe
could result.
• Consult your Yamaha dealer if the prob-
lem cannot be located and corrected.

■ Low oil pressure alert

The oil pressure icon blinks when the oil
pressure drops below a specific value. Addi-
tionally, the engine speed becomes limited
and an alert buzzer sounds. Stop the engine
and check the engine oil level. For details on
how to check the engine oil level, see the
Owner's Manual of the outboard motor.
NOTICE
• Do not operate the engine without en-
gine oil. Otherwise, severe engine dam-
age could result.
• Consult your Yamaha dealer if the prob-
lem cannot be located and corrected.
