If your array has a standby power supply (SPS), use the SPS circuit breakers to turn off
the DPE (see Figure 1-1). If your array does not have an SPS, use the AC distribution
strips for a rackmount DPE or the power distribution unit (PDU) switches for a desk-
side DPE to turn off power.
NOTE: In a rackmount DPE, the power in the distribution strips may be controlled by a
circuit breaker located inside the cabinet (if the cabinet has such breakers) or a circuit
breaker located externally to the cabinet.
When you turn off power to an array with an SPS, the On Battery light may come on
for a maximum of 90 seconds while the DPE continues to run. This is a normal condi-
tion. Wait for the On battery light to go off and the fans to stop before continuing
service to the array.
To turn on power, reverse the procedure.
