Troubleshooting

Problem
The handset does
not work.
The handset does
not ring.
You cannot make/
receive a call.
You cannot dial.
The handset stops
working during
operation.
You cannot use the
handset during a
power failure.

Possible Cause
The batteries are drained.
The power is off.
Ringer volume is set to "Off".
The handset is out of range, or
the CS is busy.
The radio channel is busy, or a
radio communication error
occurred.
The number that you dialled is
restricted by the PBX.
Key lock mode is on.
The radio channel is busy or a
radio communication error
occurred.
The handset will not function
during a power failure because
the PBX stops emitting
radiowaves.
Solution
Charge the batteries fully.
(See "Charging the Batteries" on
page 6.)
Re-insert the batteries, and then
set the handset on the charger.
(See "Battery Installation" on
page 5, and "Charging the
Batteries" on page 6.)
If the ringer has been turned off,
either by setting Ringer Volume to
"Off" or by pressing the " " key,
the ringer will not ring.
For the details about the settings,
see "Adjusting the Ringer Volume
or Turning the Ringer Off" on
page 11.
After turning on the ringer, confirm
that "
" is not displayed.
Move closer to the CS or try again
later.
Try again later.
Consult your dealer.
To cancel the mode, press
for about 2 seconds.
