This guide is intended to help you set up the appliance and connect it to the network quickly. Refer to
the table below as you ensure that the contents of the box are accounted for.

Prerequisites
1. You either ordered the AMS appliance (AMS
Appliance Management Software (AMS) installed and running on a machine. The software can be
downloaded from the Alcatel-Lucent download site (https://support.lucent.com).
2. The AMS administrator needs to create a record for the ESM
appliance setup information to you either in print format or electronically, as described on the next
page in Appliance setup instructions. Setup of an appliance in AMS is described in "View appliance
setup information" in Chapter 2 of the AMS User's Guide.
