Product Code: 1895T SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SAFETY OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Before using the stand ensure it is in sound condition, and good working order. ü Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only. Non-authorised parts ü may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty. Keep the stand clean for best and safest performance. ü Locate the stand in an adequate working area for its function, keep area clean and tidy ü and free from unrelated materials, and ensure there is adequate lighting. Use on a firm, level surface capable of sustaining the stand and the load. ü Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non- ü slip shoes. Ensure all non-essential persons keep a safe distance whilst the stand is in use. ü Lock mounting plate in position before fixing a load, and ensure the load is centred ü and securely mounted on the locking plate. Ensure the Stand and the load is stable. ü To move a loaded stand, push it from the load side, above the two fixed wheels. DO ü NOT move the stand from the castor end and never pull the stand towards yourself. Also ensure surface over which the stand is to travel is strong enough to take the stand load and that it is not cracked, uneven or obstructed. DO NOT operate unit if damaged. û DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the stand. û DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of 800kg. û DANGER: DO NOT work under an engine mounted on the stand. Product Code: 1895T ASSEMBLY, OPERATION, PREVENTITIVE MAINTENANCE 1. FEATURES The Tradequip 1895T Engine Stand accepts a wide variety of engines and transmissions. The head easily swivels 360º via the ratio gear box for convenient accessibility to all parts of the engine. It has fully adjustable mounting arms. Swivel castors provide excellent manoeuvrability. This model also offers oil drip tray for cleaner disassembly. 2. ASSEMBLY Attach Column (3) to Base (6) using Bolt (14), Washer (15) and Nut (16) Mount Turntable (2) to Column (3) using Bolt (9), Washer (10) and Flat Washer (11) Loosely attach Fingers (1) to Turntable (2) using Bolt (12) and Washer (13) Slowly tilt the assembly onto its back Mount Swivel Castors (7) to the back (Bottom) of the Base (6) using Bolt (18), Washer (19) and Nylock Nut (20) Mount Directional Wheels (7) to the front (Top) of the Base (6) using Bolt (18), Washer (19) and Nylock Nut (20) Slowly tilt the assembly onto its wheels Attach Hand Wheel (4) to the drive on the side of the gearbox using Bolt (23), Washer (22) and Flat Washer (21) Mount Handle (24) to the Column (3) using Nut (26) and Washer (25) 10. Product Code: 1895T Make sure the setup is stable and then, slowly and carefully remove the workshop crane or engine lifting device. REMOVING ENGINES Attach an engine lifting bar or sling to the engine. Connect the bar or sling to a workshop crane or lifting device and slowly lift the engine just enough to take pressure off the engine stand. Remove the bolts and lock washers that secure the mounting plate to the stand’s drive shaft. Slide the drive shaft out of the mounting plate receiver and slowly and carefully manoeuvre the engine away from the stand. Unscrew the four bolts that secure the adapter arms to the engine. 5. STORAGE This Engine Stand should always be stored in a dry location on a level surface. 6. MAINTENANCE Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only. Non-authorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty. Keep the stand clean for best and safest performance. 7. SERVICE & REPAIR Any Engine Stand found damaged in any way, or found to be worn or operates abnormally should be removed from service until repaired by an authorised service agent.
