2. General
These installation and operating instructions contain
general instructions that must be observed during
installation, operation and maintenance of the
adsorption filter.
Should you require further information or should
problems occur, which are not described in detail in
these instructions, please contact the nearest

2.1 Functioning
The chlorine gas adsorption filter neutralises chlorine
gas leaking out of the safety overpressure line of the
chlorine gas dosing plant, by enriching the adsorbent

with the chlorine gas.

A chlorine gas leakage can occur as a result of

insufficient maintenance of the chorine gas dosing
2
plant or due to a soiled inlet valve.

If chlorine gas escapes from the Cl
2
overpressure line and enters the adsorption cylinder,
it is connected with the active centres of the
2
adsorbent.

If the chlorine gas quantity exceeds the capacity of
3
the filter, chlorine gas will reach the sensor of the
3
gas warning unit and trigger an alarm.

2.2 Application

The chlorine gas adsorption filter neutralises chlorine
3
gas escaping from the safety overpressure line of the
chlorine gas dosing plant.

Other applications, which are not
approved, are considered improper and
are not permitted.
Grundfos cannot be held liable for any
damage resulting from incorrect use.
2.3 Warranty
A guarantee claim in accordance with our general
terms of sale and delivery is only valid if the following
requirements are fulfilled:

accordance with the information in this manual.
Maintenance and repair work is carried out by
authorised and qualified personnel.
2.4 Improper operating methods
The operational safety of the chlorine gas adsorption
filter is only guaranteed if it is used in accordance
with section
2.2
2.5 Qualification and training of personnel
The personnel responsible for the installation,
operation and service must be appropriately
qualified for these tasks.
