4. Gently pull the LEDs from the marker housing into the inside of the boiler
shell.
5. Install the replacement LEDs into the marker light housing.
6. Connect the LEDs to the wiring harness connector.
7. Reinstall the boiler shell onto the chassis. Be sure not to pinch any of the
wires while reinstalling the boiler to the chassis.
Pilot Mounted Marker LEDs:
1. Remove the boiler shell from the chassis as shown in figure 7 on page 12.
2. Disconnect the LED connector from the wiring harness.
3. Remove the screws securing signal equipment box and the pilot. The
screws are accessed from the underside of the pilot.
4. Gently remove the LEDs from the marker light housings on the pilot.
5. Remove the screws securing the cylinder saddle. Do not remove the
cylinder saddle. Be careful of the siderods and vale gear coming loose when
the cylinder saddle is lifted.
6. Guide the wires for the LEDs under the cylinder saddle and remove the
LEDs to be replaced. Be careful not to disturb the running gear and side rods.
7. Connect the replacement LEDs to the wire harness and reattach the cylinder
saddle screws. Make sure the LED wires are routed in the proper channels of
the chassis.
8. Install the LEDs in to the marker light housings.
9. Reattach the pilot and signal equipment box to the chassis.
10. Reattach the boiler onto the chassis. Be sure not to pinch any of the wires
while reinstalling the boiler to the chassis.
This is a fairly involved procedure. If you do not feel comfortable doing this,
please send your engine into the MTH Service Department. A qualified
service person will replace the bulbs for you.
