5.3 Ignition
5.3.1 Electricals plates
Turn on the main switch upstream of the appliance.
Turn the knob (pos. 1 fig. 6) for the plate required to a number
between 1 and 6. The green indicator light (pos. 2 fig. 6) come on
indicates that the resistances are operational.
We advise first turning the hotplate up to maximum temperature.
Once this has been reached, turn the knob to the required heat.
To turn any plate off, simply turn the knob back to "0".

5.3.2 Pyroceram
Single power plates:
Turn the knob (pos. 1 fig. 7) for the plate required in a clockwise
direction, remembering that the thinner part of the "comet" corre-
sponds to the minimum amount of power and the thicker part corre-
sponds to the maximum amount, the green indicator light (pos. 2
fig. 7) come on indicates that the resistances are operational.
Position
corresponds to the fixed "on" setting of the heating ele-
ment.
Double power plates:
Turn the knob (pos.1 fig. 7) for the plate required in a clockwise
direction, remembering that the thinner part of the "comet" corre-
sponds to the minimum amount of power and the thicker part corre-
sponds to the maximum amount.
In this way, only the central part of the heating element will be tur-
ned on (1800 W).
By rotating the knob the whole way and returning it to the position
required, the external part of the heating element will also be auto-
matically switched on (2500 W).
The green indicator light (pos. 2 fig. 7) come on indicates that the
resistances are operational. In order to return to reduced power
mode, turn the plate off and then on again.
Position
corresponds to the fixed "on" setting of the heating ele-
ment.

Never clean the appliance with jets of water, whether direct
or pressurised!
Never clean the appliance before it has cooled down.
Rinse the surface with clean water and a soft cloth to get rid
of all traces of detergent.
When finished using the appliance, it should be cleaned tho-
roughly every evening. Cleaning the appliance daily guaran-
tees perfect long-term operation.
Before starting to clean the appliance, disconnect from the
mains. The surfaces and steel parts should be washed in warm
water using a neutral detergent. Avoid using abrasive or cor-
rosive detergents which could damage the steel.
