Power supply

,
The ET-5 is equipped with a battery
compartment and a rechargeable battery
compartment. The rechargeable batteries
are permanently installed in their
compartment.
1 Battery compartment
2 Rechargeable battery compartment
3 Charging socket
4 Charging device
The rechargeable battery compartment
must be removed from the ET-5 (4, figure
similar) to charge the theodolite using the
charging device supplied.
Four Mignon/AA/LR6 cells are needed to
operate the instrument with batteries.
The battery compartment must be removed
and opened as illustrated below to insert the
batteries.
1 Turn lock knob to "unlock"
2 Remove battery compartment
Remove the battery compartment cover and
replace the batteries.
Important information:
- Pay attention to the correct polarity of the
batteries (see illustration on the battery
compartment)!
- The batteries should be of the same type
and, as far as possible, have the same
charged state.
- Remove wet batteries from the
instrument immediately and dry them.
A battery symbol in the lower right corner of
the display indicates the charging state of
the batteries (the longer the battery symbol,
the better the charging state). If the
batteries are almost empty, the whole
battery symbol disappears with the last bar.
No power available for measurements!
