Secateur Tips:
1. Use only for green, growing wood, stems, twigs and woody plants. Not for hard materials like dry,
dense wood, thick branches or wire.
2. Secateurs work best using the deepest part of the blade to cut. Avoid cutting close to the tip
which can dull the blade. Blunt blades can also damage a plant.
3. To avoid blade damage, don't use your secateurs to cut branches larger than the blades
are capable of cutting.
4. Prune ABOVE a bud. If the cut is below, it could leave a long piece of stem to die back,
and also detract from the beauty of the plant.
5. The ideal cut has a slight slope to it, which will allow dew and water to drain away
and encourage healing.
6. To maintain blades, remove any sap deposits and lightly oil after each use.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.
7. Be sure to securely latch blades between use to avoid injury.
8. Store securely in holster when not in use.
Holster Care:
Wipe with a clean, dry cloth after each use to remove excess dirt and debris.
Maintenance:
Cleaning removes dirt and sap build-up, preventing hardened particles from wedging between blades.
Clean the blade using a dry cloth or soft bristle brush. Remove sap build-up with warm soapy water.
Dry blades thoroughly and wipe clean with a soft cloth. Lightly oil the spring and blades after each use.
mWARNING!
1. Keep out of the reach of children.
2. Use caution when handling; the blades are extremely sharp.
3. Avoid dropping blades, or using the tool for something other than which it was designed,
which could result in blade breakage or personal injury.
4. Avoid cutting diseased or infected wood, stems and plants. Thoroughly clean and sterilize blades
after use to prevent transferring an infection to other healthy plants.
