11.
Use the same method as for detecting vertical
slats or studs to find horizontal woodwork.
Note:
Stud detection works just as well on walls
with wallpaper on them. The device may not
work though on some foiled or metal-coated
surfaces.
If you push the device too far from the
detected stud, it may happen that the green
LED dies out and the beeping stops. This may
lead to incorrect measuring results.
Place the side of the device that you want
to use to the subject wall before detecting/
calibrating.
It is recommended to repeat the measuring
near the detected stud in the wall as a single
nail may change the mid point.
Repeated calibration helps to recognize false
measuring results.
In case of metal / voltage detection it is
recommended to make sure that the detected
object is not a pipe or cable. Keep in mind that
the device detects smaller screws and nails as
well.
If two studs are near each other, the device
may show an incorrect measuring result.
M
axiMUM accUracy
The sensitivity of the device enables it to detect
the precise location of pipes, cables, woodwork
and slats. Move the device on the subject
surface with red LED signal and beeping. After
each turn adjust the device so it would only
signal for the sought objects (woodwork, slats,
pipes, cables).
g
eneral settings
Use a small screwdriver at the battery holder's
bottom part (see fig. 12)
12.
setting metal / Ac voltage detection accuracy
Turn the metal/voltage knob halfway down.
Set the function switch to AC voltage/metal
position.
Turn the calibrating knob with the screwdriver.
If the green LED is lit up, slowly turn the
calibrating screw clockwise until the red LED
light and the beeper start to signal. Slowly turn
the calibrating knob back until the green LED
light up and the beeping stop. The device is
now detecting correctly.
setting stud detection accuracy:
Turn the „STUD" knob halfway down.
Set the function switch to „STUD" position.
Place the device with its „STUD" side to the
wall.
Turn the calibrating screw for stud detection.
If the green LED is lit, turn the calibrating
screw clockwise until the red LED and the
beeper signal. Slowly turn the screw back until
the green LED lights up and the beeping stops.
The device is now detecting correctly.

arning
Shielded or free wires in metallic culverts,
boxes, metal walls or thick walls can not be
detected.
Pay attention when nailing, cutting or drilling
in a wall, the edge or the floor may contain
wires or pipes.
Always turn the power off when working near
electric cables.
Always be careful when nailing, sawing or
drilling into walls, floors or ceilings as they may
contain cables or wires.
