Used components
Component
Value
Schottky diode BYV10-40
Cin1, Cin2
100nF
Csup1
2200µF/16V
Csup2
100nF
Cref
10µF/16V

< 100pF
These are the components which are advised for the standard TDA1562 application.
When the amplifier is mainly used for driving a subwoofer, increasing the size of the lift
capacitors is strongly advised.

Application note
Comment
Purpose
Schottky diode
To prevent that the negative
terminal of the lifter
capacitors is pulled below
substrate level when the
supply voltage drops.
MKT
Input DC coupling
Electrolytic
Buffer capacitor
capacitor
SMD, NPO or X7R
HF decoupling of the supply Lower value: possibly oscillations in the
material
Electrolytic
Decoupling of internal
capacitor
reference voltage, timing for
load detection circuit.
Electrolytic
Supply lift capacitors
capacitor
EMI capacitor
Filter out EMI from external
sources

TDA1562Q application note
Effect when value is changed
Without Schottkys:
In stand-by: Possibly plops
In operating: Possibly "audio holes"
Lower: Low frequency rolloff will shift to
higher frequency.
Higher: Low frequency rolloff will shift to
lower frequency.
Lower value: Worse SVRR
supply
Lower value: Worse SVRR and possibly
malfunction of load detection circuit
Lower value: Less power at low frequencies
ESR influences maximum output power.
Lower value: less EMI suppression
Higher value: possible instability of the
amplifier.
When higher values than 100pF are used,
Boucherot (Zobel) filters (10Ω, 47nF) should
be placed near the outputs.
