Tuning sensitivity button
By pressing the tuning sensitivity button
desired sensitivity level of the autom atic station seeker. The sensitivity indica­
to r shows the selected sensitivity level:

=
least sensitive (the autom atic seeker only stops at strong stations)
I
= average (the autom atic seeker stops at strong and moderate strength
stations)

m ost sensitive (the autom atic seeker also stops at weak stations)
When sw itched off, the radio returns to the " least sensitive" level.
Direct frequency tuning
In order to select a station with a known frequency, select the wave band (AM
or FM), press the function control button E S and then enter the frequency by
pressing the corresponding pushbuttons.

When tuning a frequency directly, the num ber of the pushbutton is not dis­
played on the panel. The wave band is indicated by showing " M Hz" fo r FM or
" kHz" fo r AM.
Note:
All AM stations have allocated frequencies ending with a " 0".
All FM stations have allocated frequencies ending with an odd (uneven) digit
after the decimal point.
Broadcasters som etim es may not give their exact frequency but the next clos­
est whole number.
US radio frequency ranges:
AM 5 4 0 -1 6 0 0 kHz
FM 88.1 -1 0 7 .9 MHz

Manual tuning (used to fine tune a
station or fo r manual scanning)
A fter selecting the desired AM or FM
wave band, press the manual tuning
button E l (decreasing station fre ­
quency) or □

The frequency will increase or de­
crease respectively in increm ents of
0.1 MHz fo r FM or 1.0 kHz fo r AM.
Release the button when the desired
station is tuned in.
Please note: It is recom m ended that
manual tuning operations be per­
form ed by the driver while the vehicle
is not in motion.

To store stations in memory
Any FM station can be stored on any
button marked QZI through Q Q
by firs t tuning in the desired station,
depressing the button desired and
holding it until the display has
changed from the " o ld " setting to a
" blank" and then to the new station to
be stored.
