Before first Use

Remove the device from the packaging. Keep packaging material out of reach of
small children. There is risk of suffocation!

Inserting the Batteries

1. The battery compartment (8) is located at the back of the radio. Loosen the
screw on the battery compartment lid and remove it.
2. Insert 4 new batteries of type 1.5 V LR14 C observing the right polarity. The
polarity is indicated inside the battery compartment.
3. Reattach the battery compartment lid and secure it with the screw.
4. Decreasing volume and poor reception normally indicate deteriorating
batteries. Replace the batteries or use a suitable power supply unit.
5. If you do not intend to use the radio for some time, remove the batteries.

AM/FM Reception

1. Set the ON/OFF switch (9) to the desired frequency band; either to AM or to
FM.
2. Set the tuning knob (3) to the desired frequency. The megahertz scale is
relevant for the FM range. The kilohertz scale is relevant for the AM range.
3. Set the volume knob (1) to the desired volume.
4. Set the ON/OFF switch (9) to OFF to turn the radio off.

Operation with a Power Supply Unit

 If you want to operate the radio by using an external power supply unit, only
use a non-stabilized power supply with an output voltage of 6 V
output current of at least 600 mA. Using an insufficiently interference
suppressed, stabilized power supply unit can lead to disturbed radio reception.
The plug of the power supply unit must have a central positive pole.
 The socket for the power supply unit (7) is located on the right side of the
housing. It is sealed by a rubber covering. The batteries are disconnected
when the plug is inserted and the radio is powered by the power supply unit.
 Please keep in mind that the radio is not splash proof while a plug is inserted
into the socket and the rubber cover is open. Water may enter through the
socket, and furthermore, most power adaptors are only intended to be used
indoors.
