The assembly principle

Double cylinders are assembled either from two locking parts or from one locking part and one
functional half, and if necessary supplemented with extension pieces.
The cylinder halves are pre-assembled independently from each other and may have different
lengths depending on the installation situation. Length, shape and quantity of the individual
components vary according to the cylinder length.

Assembly procedure

In this section we describe the basic principle of how to modify the cylinder length. You will find
detailed instructions referring to the particular cylinder type on the respective pages. In principle,
you should proceed as follows:
1. Determine the lengths of the cylinder halves as required.
2. Disassemble the existing cylinder, sort the extension pieces and the connector into the correct
compartments in the assembly case.
3. Find the table concerning the cylinder variant you require.
4. Assort the specified extension pieces in stated type and length from the assembly case.
Example: length BL 45 mm (first cylinder half) =
2 coupling extensions 4 mm,
1 coupling extension 10 mm,
1 body cap extension 8 mm,
1 body cap extension 10 mm,
1 coupling extension 14 mm.
5. Assort the specified extension pieces in the stated type and length from the assembly case.
6. Pick out the connector of the appropriate total length from the assembly case.
7. Pre-assemble the cylinder half as described in the section "Reassembly of profile double
cylinder" from page 22 onwards.
Be sure to observe the correct mounting sequence of the plug extensions starting at the locking
part!
8. Assort the components for the second cylinder half from the assembly case.
9. Assemble the second cylinder half as described from page 25 onwards.
Be sure to observe the correct mounting sequence of the plug extensions starting at the locking
part!
10. Finally put the two cylinder halves together by following the steps 7-12.
