Installation
• Select a draft-free location with sufficient distance from heating elements as the setup and / or installation
location in closed rooms. If you want to mount the measuring instrument with the item no. 1713921
outdoors, then select a place that is not exposed to direct sunlight and precipitation as the installation
location (reading falsification of the temperature / humidity measurement). The measuring instruments
may not be used in or under water, this will destroy them.
• The products are delivered with a fold-away pedestal (on the rear side of the housing), so as to facilitate
setup of a table. Wall mounting is also possible and is carried out as follows:
• Fix a screw (not supplied) into the desired wall, leaving the head of the screw protruding about 5 mm from
the wall. The screw head must be so large that it cannot slip through the hole of the suspension eye. Hang
the unit by the rear suspension eye carefully on this screw.
Wall mounting is only possible on straight, vertical walls. Make sure that the product is safely
hanging on the screw before letting it go.
Thermometer and hygrometer
• The thermometer measures the temperature in degrees Celsius. The temperature is measured in a
draft-free location. The hygrometer measures the percentage of moisture in the air. This value is "relative"
because depending on the temperature the air can hold various large amounts of moisture.
• The product with the item no. 1712144 also has a third display integrated as an indicator of room comfort.
This display provides information on the prevailing air-conditioner "Comfort" as a function of temperature
and humidity. Ideally this is between 65 and 75%.
The thermometer and hygrometer displays are pre-set at the factory.
To adjust the temperature and hygrometer you compare the numbers with a correctly functioning
reference instrument.
Deviations on the pointer can be corrected by gently turning the adjustment screw on the back.
The default setting of the "Comfort" indicator on the product with the item no. 1712144 cannot be
adjusted.
Living environment
• If the air in the room is too warm and too dry it is bad for your health, especially for your skin and respiratory
tract. The right temperature and humidity play a role in plants, wood floors, antique furniture, musical
instruments and books.
• By controlling the indoor environment you feel more comfortable and save on heating costs. The right
temperature and humidity vary with use from room to room. The following guidelines are recommended:
Staircase
15 °C
Bedroom
16 - 18 °C
Kitchen
18 °C
Living room
20 °C
Bathroom
23 °C
Care and cleaning
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause
damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Clean the product with a dry, fiber-free cloth.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
